Overview
Most couples visit the Himalaya and miss the other half of Nepal. This trip takes you south, to the flat green Terai, where the air is warm and the pace is slow.
In Lumbini you rise early for a walk through the Sacred Garden and a short meditation led by a local guide while the monasteries from different countries are quiet. A few days later you reach Chitwan, where mornings start with a canoe on the Rapti River and afternoons are for jeep or walking safaris with a naturalist who reads tracks like a book. In the evening you join a Tharu village for a stick dance, a home dinner and a night under a thatched roof.
It is private, relaxed and very different from a trek. A good fit for couples who want nature and calm without altitude.

- Spring (Mar–May)Warmer than autumn, with rhododendron forests in flower and slightly hazier mountain views as the season goes on.
