How booking works

How booking works

What you are agreeing to, and when.

Five steps, and money only changes hands at the third one.

Nothing is owed until step three

The whole sequence, before you start it. You can stop at any point up to the deposit without owing anything, and we would rather you did that than book something that is wrong for you.

Step 1. You ask

A rough route and a rough date is enough. Tell us how much time you have, roughly how fit you are and what you actually want out of the trip. You pay nothing.

Step 2. You get it in writing

A day-by-day itinerary, the full cost breakdown, what is included and what is not, and an honest read on the fitness and altitude the route asks for. If we think the plan is too tight we will say so here. You pay nothing.

Step 3. You reserve

Once you are happy and a licensed guide is available for your dates, you reserve with a deposit or pay in full. The cancellation terms and any payment-provider fee are stated before you pay, not after.

Step 4. Your trip page opens

A private link with your documents, permit checklist, packing list, confirmed guide and a direct line to them. Everything in one place instead of scattered across an email thread.

Step 5. You arrive

We meet you at the airport, brief you in Kathmandu the day before departure, and check your gear so that anything missing can be bought or hired before you are three days up a valley without it.

The things people ask at this point

Can I change the itinerary?

Yes, up to the point of departure and often during the trek. Extra nights, a rest day, a different finish, a private helicopter out. Cost changes are quoted before anything is booked.

Do you run fixed departures?

Trips are private on your dates by default. Group joining is sometimes available and we will tell you honestly whether a group actually exists on your dates rather than inventing one.

What if the Lukla flight is cancelled?

It happens, most often in the shoulder seasons. We build a buffer day into Everest itineraries, and if the delay runs beyond that we will lay out the options and their costs, including a helicopter, before anything is committed.

A human answer before a booking form

Ask us something difficult.

Altitude. Lukla weather. Guide licensing. What the price excludes. Whether a route is realistic for your fitness. Start with the question you actually have.
