Kailash Tour Via Lhasa

Your arrival in Kathmandu is the first day of the trip. We will welcome you at the arrival gate of Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu and transfer you to the trip hotel. You will have free time mostly on your own today. We will surely offer you necessary guidance on wandering around on your arrival time. We will also brief you about the entire adventure trip and answer your questions if you have any. Feel at comfort; relax and try to acclimate in the Nepalese atmosphere. Things may look and feel completely strange to you but that’s the beauty of a new place so find yourself at easy and slowly soak into the local ambience.

We spend a full day in Kathmandu today which will be a necessary acclimatization day as well. Early in the morning after breakfast, we will meet for trip briefing where we will talk about this amazing trip in details and answer your questions should you have any. After the brief meeting is over, we are taking you for an amazing cultural sightseeing tour of heritage sites in Kathmandu valley. The sites we take you for the sightseeing today include Pashupatinnath – for a puja and darshan, Swoyambhunath - the oldest monument in Kathmandu valley, and Kathmandu Durbar Square – to see the temple of Living Goddess and other medieval architectural wonders.

You fly to Lhasa today. When you arrive at Lhasa airport, our company representative will welcome you in Tibet and transfer you to hotel. As you fly out from Kathmandu, Nepal to Lhasa, Tibet you can experience the joy of the trans-Himalayan flight that takes you over the mighty Himalayan range. After the spectacular Himalayan flight, you will breathe fresh air at the high altitude of around 3,650 meters above sea level. As it’s the arrival day, no activities have been planned for today. You will have time to relax and adjust with the high altitude on your own.

We are ready to explore the wonders of Lhasa city. A visit to the iconic Potala Palace is an insightful exploration of this wonderful residence of the Dalai Lama the 14th. It was his residence until the 1959 uprising that forced him to leave the country and live in exile in India. It has been converted into a museum and listed as a world heritage site. After exploring the Potala Palace, we visit Norbulinka that served as the summer residence of the Dalai Lamas in Tibet. A huge area covered by the palace has the largest man made park in Tibet. The grandeur of Norbulinka and the park adds to the awesomeness of the day in Lhasa.

We leave Lhasa today to go to Gyantse. About six hours of drive takes us to Gyantse about 260 kilometers far from Lhasa. The drive along the Tibetan highway has spectacular sceneries to enjoy. We pass over two high mountain passes and go over 5,000 meters above sea level on wheels. Kora La that stands at 5,010m and Kamba La that stands and 4,794m above sea level have stunning views. Before reaching Gyantse, we also get to see fascinating Yamadroke Lake along the way.

We have a wonderful half day Gyantse tour set today after breakfast. To immerse into the spiritual vibrations of the places, we are going to explore some Buddhist monasteries where we get some insights about the practice of Buddhism and its rituals here in Gyantse. Later on, after the tour finishes, we drive to Xigatse leaving Gyantse behind. About 90 kilometers of the stretch today allows us to enjoy some spectacular landscape and sceneries.

Our destination for the day is Tingri. Our day starts with a breakfast and advances towards Tingri. The day brings beautiful sceneries of the high mountainous landscape of Tibetan land. As we drive along the highway, we reach Lhatse for lunch break after driving over high mountain pass. A delicious lunch savored greedily, we start the rest of the journey for the day to Tingri for overnight stay.

It’s another beautiful day that takes us closer to the holy Manasarovar and Kailash Mountain. The drive to Saga today gives us more insightful experience of driving on a high altitude road. Although the toughness of altitude remains throughout, breathtaking beauty of the landscape that we pass through makes us forget all the odds. We reach Saga for overnight stay.

Each day drive is taking us higher in elevation and closer to our destination of the trip. When we drive to Prayang today, we will be at one camp away from the holy Manasarovar Lake. It takes us about six hours to reach Prayang and the drive will bring several awesome places along the highway.

On our journey today, we reach the holy Manasarovar. About six hours of drive from Prayang takes us to the holy site. The awesome serenity of the lake is so spellbinding that spreads the vibrations of blessings all around it. The natural beauty of the lake enhanced by the underlying spiritual vibrations is so overwhelming that leaves us speechless.

We take an extra day at Manasarovar to acclimatize and do some cleansing rituals before we set of the circumambulation of the holy Mt. Kailash. We take holy bath on the lake; perform Pooja and wander around soaking in the peaceful and beautiful charm of the lake and surrounding.

The main part of this spiritual journey starts today as we start the trekking around the holy Mt. Kailash. The first part of our journey today is a drive to Darchen. We prepare for the meaningful journey of our life. The adventurous circumambulation of the Kailash is the highlight of the trip. We start the journey on foot and advance towards Derapuk. The blessings from the holy mountain stays with us to help us keep going further ahead towards the destination.

It’s a long day high altitude adventure walk to Zuthulpuk today. The walk goes over a high pass that takes us at the elevation of 5,650 meters above sea level. Our devotional journey around the holy mountain ascends towards the Dolma La pass early in the morning. After a challenging ascent, we eventually reach the pass to descend to Zuthulpuk for overnight stay.

On the final day of the circumambulation, we trek back to Darchen completing a circle around the holy Mt. Kailash. Incredible blessing from the holy mountain stays with us and we feel so elated on the successful accomplishment of the circumnavigation of the Kailash. We drive back to Manasarovar from Darchen to stay overnight.

We drive all the way back to Saga today leaving the pristine Manasarovar and holy Mt. Kailash behind taking the immense blessings and memories with us.

On our journey back towards Lhasa, we drive to Xigatse today. This long day drive takes us back again through the stunningly mountainous landscape.

We trace the highway back to Lhasa today. We celebrate the accomplishment of the journey and getting the blessings from the holy Mt. Kailash and Manasarovar. We stay overnight at Lhasa today.

We fly back to Kathmandu today. Once in Kathmandu, we will have free time to spend at leisure after so many days of serene mountain air sacred journey to Mt. Kailash.

As the last day on the sacred journey to Mt. Kailash, we will drive you to the airport for your departure flight as per your flight schedule.
