Kailash Tour Via Kerung

Your arrival in Kathmandu is the first day of the trip. We will welcome you at the arrival gate of Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu and transfer you to the trip hotel. You will have free time mostly on your own today. We will surely offer you necessary guidance on wandering around on your arrival time. We will also brief you about the entire adventure trip and answer your questions if you have any. Feel at comfort; relax and try to acclimate in the Nepalese atmosphere. Things may look and feel completely strange to you but that’s the beauty of a new place so find yourself at easy and slowly soak into the local ambience.

We spend a full day in Kathmandu today which will be a necessary acclimatization day as well. Early in the morning after breakfast, we will meet for trip briefing where we will talk about this amazing trip in details and answer your questions should you have any. After the brief meeting is over, we are taking you for an amazing cultural sightseeing tour of heritage sites in Kathmandu valley. The sites we take you for the sightseeing today include Pashupatinnath – for a puja and darshan, Swoyambhunath - the oldest monument in Kathmandu valley, and Kathmandu Durbar Square – to see the temple of Living Goddess and other medieval architectural wonders.

It is a long day drive today to the Nepal Tibet border town of Kerung. About nine hours of drive along the scenic highway takes us to Kerung today. We complete all the immigration process at the border immigration office and enter Tibet and settle into a lodge to spend overnight. A good rest is what we look forward to after the long drive.

We take an extra day at Kerung to acclimatize and rest before we drive further higher into the Tibetan land. We can take leisurely wander around the town and spend the day exploring bazar.

We drive all the way to Saga today. Around six hours of drive today takes us past deserted terrain of Tibet. We drive past several nomad camps. The day also brings us the view of Gaurishankar, Shishapangma and Langtang Himal. We also drive past lake, river and many other dramatic landscapes before reaching Saga to stay overnight.

Each day drive is taking us higher in elevation and closer to our destination of the trip. When we drive to Prayang today, we will be at one camp away from the holy Manasarovar Lake. It takes us about six hours to reach Prayang and the drive will bring several awesome places along the highway.

On our journey today, we reach the holy Manasarovar. About six hours of drive from Prayang takes us to the holy site. The awesome serenity of the lake is so spellbinding that spreads the vibrations of blessings all around it. The natural beauty of the lake enhanced by the underlying spiritual vibrations is so overwhelming that leaves us speechless.

We take an extra day at Manasarovar to acclimatize and do some cleansing rituals before we set of the circumambulation of the holy Mt. Kailash. We take holy bath on the lake; perform Pooja and wander around soaking in the peaceful and beautiful charm of the lake and surrounding.

The main part of this spiritual journey starts today as we start the trekking around the holy Mt. Kailash. The first part of our journey today is a drive to Darchen. We prepare for the meaningful journey of our life. The adventurous circumambulation of the Kailash is the highlight of the trip. We start the journey on foot and advance towards Derapuk. The blessings from the holy mountain stays with us to help us keep going further ahead towards the destination.

It’s a long day high altitude adventure walk to Zuthulpuk today. The walk goes over a high pass that takes us at the elevation of 5,650 meters above sea level. Our devotional journey around the holy mountain ascends towards the Dolma La pass early in the morning. After a challenging ascent, we eventually reach the pass to descend to Zuthulpuk for overnight stay.

On the final day of the circumambulation, we trek back to Darchen completing a circle around the holy Mt. Kailash. Incredible blessing from the holy mountain stays with us and we feel so elated on the successful accomplishment of the circumnavigation of the Kailash. We drive back to Manasarovar from Darchen to stay overnight.

We drive all the way back to Saga today leaving the pristine Manasarovar and holy Mt. Kailash behind taking the immense blessings and memories with us.

We drive all the way back to Kerung from Saga. It is another beautiful day of long drive that brings us beautiful view of the dramatic landscapes and mountains.

We drive back to Kathmandu and take a leisurely evening.

As the last day on the sacred journey to Mt. Kailash, we will drive you to the airport for your departure flight as per your flight schedule.
