  • Fitness: A good level of fitness is required. Expect 5-7 hours of walking on trekking days at altitude.
  • Altitude: Reaches 5,545 m. Not recommended for travellers with serious heart or respiratory conditions without medical clearance.
  • Minimum age: 12 years (younger on private family departures by arrangement).
  • Gear: Broken-in trekking boots, warm layers and a four-season sleeping bag essential. Full packing list sent on booking.
  • Weather: Lukla flights can be delayed by weather; buffer days are built into private itineraries.
